SWEET 16
The last big tournament of the summer season in Minnesota is the Sweet 16. No schedules are up yet. Four teams in each class are invited. Most of these teams will be fighting for their respective championships in March. At least for the past four years who ever has been in the championship game has won their class title the next year: (summer title/march title) 2002/2003 Woodbury; 2003/2004 Hopkins; 2004/2005 Rochester Lourdes; 2005/2006 Hopkins finished second to Bloomington Kennedy in the Sweet 16, but turned the tables in March. I know Lakeville won it and went on to their titles in the Podominick era and Osseo won in Hana Peljto's last year. This tournament can set the trajectory, if done right, for the rest of the winter season. You will be getting reports from these games next week.

SUMMER LEAGUE
The last known summer league is holding their championships tonight at Chisago Lakes HS. North Branch will play Osceola, WI; and Cambridge faces Somerset, WI in the other.

TRANSFERS

Barnesville not only lost its coach but also Kelsey Jacobson has left for Moorhead.

I hear rumors everytime I am at a tournament, but I won't be listing them until they walk through the doors of their new school. Needless to say things are unsettled. There are some big names that may land somewhere else. Stay tuned.
