This game took place on Sunday July, 9
Great Lakes Shootout, Menomonie WI
Championship 16-19u Division
MN Triple Threat 39, WI Dykstra Engineering 32

TT won the title with a second half comeback over Dykstra Engineering. TT scored three points on their first possession as Kachine Alexander made her first free throw, but missed the second Amanda Viehauser was there for the put back. After that, TT had a six possession scoring drought. DE took advantage of the down time to build a 6-3 lead. Patrice Thomas tied it with her 3 from the right corner and the game was cat and mouse with four other ties, the last coming at 17. Kayla Tetschlag provided the final score in the first half and DE led 19-17 at half. Tetschlag had 11 at half and it was apparent that the posts for TT could not guard her when she came to the outside. Viehauser and Williams both tried. Eventually the defender was Alexander and Thomas also in the second half.

DE had a very dry start to the second half with a six possession drought. Meanwhile TT was 4/5 on their opening possessions of the half and they enjoyed a 25-19 lead. Thomas had the last four points for TT during the stretch. DE then rattled off five strait scores of their own to close the gap to 30-29. Tetschlag had 8 points during the outburst. It was shaping up to be a battle between the #4s Thomas and Tetschlag. The game was tied at 31 as Nicole Bundy hit a shot for DE. After that DE only managed one more point in the last two minutes. Their last six possessions were for naught. TT scored on three possessions to break open the tie. Thomas scored on a rebound, Buford nailed a trey, and Alexander made a free throw to put the score at 37-32. Thomas later added two free throws on two seperate occassions for the final of 39-32

BY THE NUMBERS
Triple Threat 39, 42, 92.9, .476
Dykstra Engineering 32, 42, 76.2, .429
This was the best floor % for TT this summer. They have been remarkably consistent with the 92 mark about the top. Where they have had games in the 60s pp100 has been against powerhouses like North Tartan and Iowa Select I. DE had one player that was the tug boat. The rest are decent players, but they didn't take over the game like Tetschlag. After the tournament a reliable source & I went to the Dairy Queen across the street. Tetschlag was there and she said their tournament season was over. That is too bad because we wanted to see more.

Next up: Later tonight with a recap of the action in Orlando, Kearney, and Chicago
