This game took place on Saturday, July 22 at Bloomington Jefferson
Adidas Mid American 17u Quarterfinals

SD Elite 90, Omaha Lady Lakers 46

SD Elite showed why they are a team to be reckoned with as they came out firing on all cylinders in a 90-46 win. They made 5 3s in their first 18 possessions. They hit for 8 in the half. SDE grabbed the early lead at 7-0. OLL didn't score their first points until their 8th possession. SDE never had a great string, but what they do is avoid the nasty droughts. SDE led 40-23 at half.

At the start of the second half SDE did string six scoring possessions together. When OLL went into a six possession dry spell, SDE strangely didn't exploit the situation only scoring once in six trys. SDE did get it's groove back very quickly however. They did string five late in the game going on an 11-2 run. OLL had a extremely dry run of 9 possessions.

SD ELITE
STARTERS
Jill Young, Mitchell Christian 13, 8, 152.5, .625 Young's value is in her understanding of the game, and increasing the level of play of those around her. She has a very quick snap of the wrist as she delivers the ball to teammates in prime scoring territory. She also has a nice smooth shot. She can fire in 3s or take it to the glass. She has a knack of being in the right spot. Defensively she understands where to be and always seems to be part of action. F: size may be an issue at 5-7
Megan Doyle, Hanson 11, 11, 100.0, .455 likes to penetrate. Can drop a 3 bomb.
Kristin Rotert, McCook Central 22, 16, 137.5, .625 the tallest player on the team, but is not a post by any means. This six footer can play beyond the arc with the best of any guards. She has distance game, penetration game, and has great hands. She is not afraid of contact and initiaties some of it herself.
Sara Puthoff, West Central 7, 10, 70.0, .300 another in the 3 arsenal. RF: hand was dropping on shot resulting in a flat shot as balls bounced off the back rim.

Looking at all the games this summer I have charted, SDE has the most points scored in a game with this game. In fact they have four of the top five scoring records this summer. Daubert Pinnacle Nebraska is the only other non SDE team in that category.
This was the fourth time SDE has made the top 10 in pp100 for this spring and summer ball. It was their best floor % that I have seen in five games this season. But with such excellent shooters, and good passers this is what is to be expected.
OLL didn't have the moxy to stay with the barage of treys. SDE's philosophy is pretty simple layups, 3s, and free throws. They made 8 lay ups in the second half, were 10/11 at the line and rang the bell for two more 3s.

Next up: SDE's rival Iowa Select I vs Kansas Hoop Service Black
