NC Heat in Final 4, Stealth Busted

MN NC Heat advanced to the final four with a 71-66 win over the Arkansas Mavericks and then in the quarterfinals beat Illinois Wolverines 51-47. They will face the Philadelphia Belles this morning at 10 am.
The other area team All Iowa Attack was beat in the 16 round by the Fairfax Stars 61-50.

The MN Metro Stars split in pool play yesterday with a loss to MA Bay State Magic Elite 51-43, and then they bounced back with a 51-47 win over the Houston hotshots. The other MN team North Tartan had a rough opening day with a 74-54 loss to the MA Comets, and then another 20 point loss 67-47 to the St. Louis Sparks. More on the 14u aau site.

Washington
The State of Washington doesn't mess around when in comes to recruiting violations in High school sports. Seattle Stealth has had their two state titles taken away due to recruiting violations. They have to forfeit all games for the past four years. They are barred from post season play this year. The coaches involved in the alledged recruiting are now suing to restore their reputations. The waiting game has begun in Crookston as Eric Schmidt. He has not made it official yet, but U of North Dakota football assistant may be his next job. Crookston finished 2nd in AA last year and has a boat load of talent back. Here is the Crookston Times with the news.

Corey Frink has been named the new coach at Bismarck St. Mary's. He replaces Jaye Amundson who resigned to pursue a law degree. Here is more on the hire from the Bismarck Tribune.

The North eeked out a 64-62 win over the South in the annual event in Aberdeen last night. Ruth Nelson, Huron and Brittany Fuhrman, Mobridge each had 10 for the North. Tiffany Moe of Brookings led all scorers with 15 for the South. This marked the fifth two point All Star game. ND had two games decided last week by two, and MN had two games decided at the last second in St. Cloud. Here is more on the SD event from the Aberdeen American News.

TEAM CAMP
Minnesota will hold it's team camp Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There will be 21 teams involved. The championship will be Saturday at 12:45 at Williams Arena.
