SEMIFINALS
North Tartan 58, New Mexico Heat Elite 42. NT trailed 34-17 in the second quarter as NMHE did everything right. Then NMHE had a drought of biblical proportions--26 possessions without a single score. That drought stretched over 3 quarters. NT outscored NMHE 41-8 to finish the game. More on this epic game on Tuesday.
North Tartan Blue 56, Mpls Lady Lakers 53 OT. NTB trailed 40-33 going into the 4th quarter. MLL led 47-38 late in the quarter. NTB held MLL scoreless their last six possessions and four different NTB players contributed to outscore MLL 9-0 down the stretch. NTB scored the first three times in OT to keep the momentum. More on this game on Tuesday.
FINALS
Well, there really was no finals. NT was not going to play their sisters, and NMHE didn't want to play MLL again, so it was a glorified exhibition and NT had no problems 46-22. Talisha Barlow was not playing in this game for MLL, and neither was Tera Steinbauer for NT who left the NMHE game with a leg problem. No word on her condition. As a fan I wanted to see the civil war game, but it wasn't my decision obviously. More on this game Wednesday.

14U FINALS
The MN Fury a team recently put together beat the Mpls Lady Cats 65-47. MLC is a 12U team playing up. more on this game on Wednesday.

On the whole the day was extremely uncomfortable just watching. I can imagine it was 10 times worse moving in that oppressive heat. Luckily for me a reliable source brought a floor fan. That made the situation a little more bearable. When I left Bloomington it was 98 on the Freeway Ford electronic sign.

Next up: tomorrow morning with the general news plus later in the day a look at the Lynx vs the NY Liberty (another loss 78-69), and then the first indepth reports out of the aptly named Meltdown Mpls Lady Lakers/Purple Aces; and North Tartan Blue vs Kansas City Keys.
