NC Heat Power Outage, Crookston Open

TOURNAMENTS
15u AAU
MN NC Heat was frozen out by the Philadelphia Belles 71-42 in the semifinals of the 15u tournament. They were the last team in the coverage area still in the hunt. More from the 15U site.

14uAAU
The Michigan Shock is undefeated at this point in pool play at 4-0. Another Michigan team, the Mid State Wizards, are 2-1 as is MN Metro Stars. MN North Tartan is 0-4 at this point. The teams with four games under their belt will have one more in pool play, while the teams with three games have two left today. Brackets will begin tomorrow. Here is the 14U site.

MAUI SUMMER CLASSIC
There was another SD team that had some success this tournament season. This SD team played in the Maui Tournament and finished 5-1. They lost to the Big Island Stringrays 46-40 in the championship. You will need to scroll down this link, but you will find out more scores and also team members. It is from the local Langdon area paper.

NIKE UPDATE
The Gym Rats 14u team were 1-4 in the Chicago Tournament.

Crookston
is now officially looking for a new coach. Former coach Eric Schmidt has been hired to be the linebacker/operations coach at the University of North Dakota. This will be a prime coaching opportunity. They have most of the team back that finished second to Cannon Falls in the AA tournament in 2006. Here is the North Dakota Press release.

In the MSU Moorhead team camp Bigfork finished 4-1 with their only loss coming to Fargo South. They beat Battle Lake, Sauk Centre, Melrose, and Lake of the Woods.

SUMMER LEAGUES

In the Deer River SL Bigfork was 10-0. Bigfork finished the summer 19-3 with tournaments and summer leagues.
