COACHING NEWS
Casey Zakowski has been hired as the girls basketball coach at Seymour, Wisconsin. He was the boys coach at Green Bay Notre Dame. From the Green Bay Press Gazette.

Scott Bernard has been rehired as girls basketball coach at LeCenter, Minnesota. That decision has divided the town and a school board member has resigned because of the decision. From the Manakto Free Press.

ALL STAR GAMES
Michigan beat Indiana West 90-78 in the Sports Fest in Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana. Courtney Webb of Benton Harbor had 24 for Michigan. Michigan will play Indiana East on Friday for the championship. From the Dowagiac Daily News.

The Champions of Character Hoops Heaven all-star basketball game takes place tonight with the girls game at 5:30 at Cornerstone University. From the Grand Rapids Press.

STAT NEWS
Iowa will require girls basketball coaches to submit stats at least twice during the year. If they don't, the coach may be banned from the post season. From the Des Moines Register.
This is something that I would like Minnesota to implement. The hit and miss nature of stat keeping in Minnesota is pretty bad. Keeping the information will drive interest in the events, and helps journalists and fans keep on top of what is happening.
