The Sioux City Journal has released their All NW Iowa team.

The Albert Lea Tribune has named a couple of Iowans as their Player of the Year-Kate Harmon of Northwood and Coach of the Year-Daryl Love of Northwood.

NORTH DAKOTA REPORTS
There are proposals out to change the B tournaments in North Dakota due to declining enrollments. From the Grand Forks Herald.

WISCONSIN REPORTS
The Wisconsin State Journal has released their All Area team (pdf file) and Catie O'Leary of Janesville Parker is their Player of the Year.

The Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter has released their All Area team and Leah Sevcik of Manitowoc Roncalli is Player of the Year.

ANKENY
The Des Moines Register looks back at the 2004-05 Ankeny Hawkettes. They finished the season 27-0 and won their fourth straight 4A State title. Ankeny finished #2 in the USA Today poll that year.

IRELAND TRIP
The Mason City Newman Catholic girls basketball team is headed to Ireland on July 23 and returns on July 31. They will play 7 games on the Emerald Isle. From the Mason City Globe Gazette.

PLAYING 56 YEARS LATER
The Uthoff sisters of Norway, Iowa are back playing basketball after a 56 year absence. They stopped the day their father died of a heart attack watching their game. Now they are playing in the 6-6 tournament in the Iowa State Games. From the Des Moines Register.

The Cedar Rapids Panthers had a trio of players that played in the Iowa Games 3-3 girls basketball tournament. One of the coaches for the Panthers is Kathy Oney, mother of Kaitlin who plays with IBCA Select I and Cedar Rapids Washington. The Ames Tribune has more details.

IBCA Select's End of the Trail Experience

END OF THE TRAIL FINISH
IBCA Select I concluded a successful ride at the End of the Trail tournament in Oregon.

IBCA Select played well through the first five games, surprising two teams along the way. IBCA defeated the Boulder Rockies Red by 20. The Rockies have a 6'7" girl and the game was played in the main gym in front of 50+ D1 coaches. IBCA Select finished 2nd in the Platinum Division after losing to Cal Swish Black 1 in the championship. IBCA Select started that game down 20-2.They came back to get it to 6, but never could close from there. IBCA lost a nail biter in their consolation game yesterday.

Making the all tournament team: Katelin Oney, Cedar Rapids Washington; Kelly Krei, Iowa City; and Trisha Nesbitt, Ames.

IBCA Select fly out of Portland and head to Omaha. Then they head to Kearney for the Miss Basketball Showcase this weekend.
