INJURIES
The Sioux Falls Argus Leader has a piece about the upsurge in injuries with 11% of players missing at least one game due to an injury. Trainers, prevention, and the year round nature of sports all get examined.

BASKETBALL LEADERSHIP SOCIAL
Community Hoops Events productions have received a large donation which will allow them to reduce the cost of the basketball leadership event on Sept 22. Tickets that were $35 are now $15. The 28 tickets that have been sold thus far will receive a refund at the door when they check in. Only 52 seats remain. The event is open to players, coaches, fans.
The event will be held at the Minneapolis Washburn Community Library from noon to 4:30.
Speakers include Minnesota Women's Basketball Associate Head coach Barb Smith; DeLaSalle, and gbbrecruit coach of the summer 07 Brian Frye; Hopkins coach Brian Cosgriff; former Gopher Kim Bell; and strength coach Missy Lott.

Summer 08, Basketball Leadership Social

SUMMER 2008
The summer of 07 is barely over, and the summer of 08 is on the horizon.
The Minnesota Metro Stars will start roster selection for their 15U and 16U teams starting on Labor Day. If you would like to join the gbbrecruit "Program of the Year" please contact Andy Meinhardt at andymeinhardt@hotmail.com Info about the Metro Stars program can be found at www.mnmetrostars.com

BASKETBALL LEADERSHIP SOCIAL
Community Hoops is sponsoring a clinic on September 22 at DeLaSalle from 11:30 am to 4:15 pm. Speakers will include DeLaSalle coach Brian Frye (the gbbrecruit "coach of the year summer of 07"). He will speak on "What do College Coaches and Recruiters look for in players along with my skills & academics?"
Also on the list is two time state AAAA champ Brian Cosgriff of Hopkins with the topic "You have been named as a captain for your team. Do you know what can be expected of you in this roll?"
Former Gopher Kim Bell will talk about "What are the real difference's in being on a high school team and a college team?"
Missy Lott, strength coach that has been with Notre Dame, Minnesota and the Lynx, will talk about "How important is nutrition and weight training while I am in high school?"
Players, coaches, and general fans can attend.
