PAT PATERSON MEMORIAL
HAMLINE TOURNAMENT
west bracket 3rd place
MINNEAPOLIS NORTH polars 74
ANDOVER huskies 69

Minneapolis North rallied from a 67-60 deficit in the last two minutes to beat Andover 74-69. The Polars finished with a 14-2 run. Brianna Edwards led North with 32 points.

The Youthful Polars grew up tonight. North, at times, had three 8th graders on the floor at the same time. They didn't quit and were relentless, getting to balls quicker than the Huskies.

PAT PATERSON MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
HAMLINE
EAST BRACKET 3RD PLACE
MINNEAPOLIS NORTH polars 78
ANDOVER huskies 66

Minneapolis North rallied from an 8 point second half deficit to pull away to a 78-66 win in the 3rd place game in the East bracket at Hamline.

Andover started off hot with a 6-0 lead after their first three possessions. They maintained that advantage until the 7:45 mark when Chaundera Riley scored and North took their first lead. Then the pendulum swung in favor of North as they stretched their lead to 34-27. North was making hay off second shots. 19 of the 34 first half points came off second chancers. Andover closed the half like they finished with 9 unanswered points and the Huskies went into the break with a 36-34 lead.

Andover started off hot again in the second half with a 8-2 run to make it a 17-2 run over the two halves. Andover led 44-36 with 15 minutes left. Even odder was North's Kendall Martin picking up her 5th foul with about 20 seconds worth of action in the second half. Despite that adversity, the whole game shifted over to North. T'keyhia Taylor revved up the offensive with a three from the right wing. On the next North possession she drove in for two. Two possessions later she struck gold again beyond the arc. So in the space of four possessions she racked up 8 points and North was back in front 46-45 and they weren't looking back. They finished the game with a 40-21 run. In the initial burst of points it was 29-8 over nine minutes. North had one sequence where they were clicking to the rate of 9/10 possessions. Even the deep bench was feeling it for North. Asha Johnson came in and delivered two bombs in her only possessions. In the end it was a 78-66 win. There is life in North after Hickman.
