Neil Dolan has returned to coach Wabasso, Minnesota. Dolan coached the Rabbits to the state A title in 2004 and then stepped aside. From the Marshall Independent.

Nebraska Wesleyan has a couple of new women's coaches: head coach Eric Jensen and assistant Zach Isherwood. Isherwood was a director in the Cornhusker Shooting Stars program and coached the 15u Judd team this past summer.

HANKINSON TURMOIL
The coaching situation is still a mess in Hankinson with a school board meeting in an emotionally charged hearing. "Tears were freely shed." The Horizon League has released their preseason all conference list.
Traci Edwards (Menasha, WI) of UW Milwaukee is the pick for player of the year for the second straight season.
Rachel Porath (Luxemburg-Casco, WI) and Lavesa Glover (Miami Dade Christian, FL) of UW Green Bay made the first and second teams.
Jessie Miller (Holy Angels) of UI Chicago made the second team.

GRAB BAG
There are no games scheduled today in Minnesota because the schedule makers were trying to avoid the traditional caucus day. Instead the politicians pulled a fast one and moved the caucus up to "Super Duper" Tuesday. That is the reason for the empty date.

Four players from the Waterloo area-- Kayla Waskow of Dunkerton, Indy Uhlenhopp of North Butler, Chelsea Poppens of Aplington-Parkersburg and Ashley Sickles of Crestwood-- were named to the INA All State teams. From the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier and Jesup Citizen Herald.
All Conference: Ashley Houston of Fort Madison was named to the first team in the Southeast Conference. From the Fort Madison Daily Democrat.
The Mississippi Athletic Conference announced their All Conference team. From the Clinton Herald.

AWARDS
UTEP's Jareica Hughes (Southfield-Lathrup, MI) has been named to the C-USA All Conference first team.

Creighton's Sara Cain (Cedar Rapids Prairie) was named Missouri Valley Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Three UW Milwaukee players were named to the All State team. Traci Edwards (Menasha) made the first team.

AWARDS
Michigan Tech's Kate Wysocky (Whitefish Bay, WI) was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Week. It is her third time this season.

MSU Moorhead's Allison Swenson (Golden Valley-Dodge-Halliday, ND) was named player of the week in the Northern Sun.

Mayville State's Laura Big Crow (Pine Ridge, SD) was named player of the week in the Dakota Athletic Conference.

Here is the Minnesota Fury 2008 Coaching Staff:

16U: Nick Storm
Coach Storm is the co-director and co-founder of the club and was the coach of their 15U team last season. This winter, he is a Varsity Assistant at Apple Valley High School. Nick is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and currently works as a Grain Trader at US Commodities in Downtown Minneapolis.

15U: Justin Morris
Justin is the other co-director and co-founder of the club, and he coached the 14U team to an impressive 24-9 record last summer. Coach Morris is in his second year at Mahtomedi High School as the 10th grade coach, and Varsity Assistant. Justin is student at the University of Minnesota working to finish his business degree.

14U: Kendrick Livers
Coach Livers is the 10th grade boys coach and varsity assistant at Apple Valley High School. For the last ten years or so, Ken has directed and coached his MN Quest Program to several tournament championships.

13U: Andy Cerisier
For the last two winters, Coach Cerisier has served as an Assistant at the University of St. Thomas under Head Coach Ruth Sinn. Prior to that, Andy worked as an Assistant Coach at Minneapolis DeLaSalle High School for five years. He is a Minneapolis native graduated from DeLaSalle and studied Sociology at the University of Minnesota.

The Fury are actively seeking players for their 13U and 14U teams. They are especially in need of a couple Forward/Post type of players for their 14U (9th grade) team. AAU NEWS
The Minnesota Fury is looking for talented 8th graders for their 13U team, coached by Andy Cerisier. Andy is a former DeLaSalle assistant coach who is now an assistant at the University of St. Thomas. The Fury are excited to have such a talented coach instructing the youth in their program. Congrats to the Cornhusker Shooting Stars 13U (8th grade) girls basketball team for winning the USSSA Mid Winter Bash ( Hosted by All Iowa Attack) in Ames, IA. The team made up of players from Lincoln, NE and surrounding communities finished the tournament 5-0. Defeating the Kansas City Breeze (MV Eclipse Players) in the quarterfinals, All Iowa Attack in the semi’s, and a narrow 2 point victory over MN Fairview Lady Cardinals in the finals.

The team is now 36-5 on the year with 3 losses coming to defending national champions Air Oklahoma Stars.

Tryouts for the Cornhusker Shooting Stars Spring/Summer teams will be:
Ages U9-U13- Sunday April 6th
Ages U14-U17- Sunday March 9th.
