YOUNG AT SDSU

Last week I reported on the move of Jill Young from Creighton to South Dakota State. Now here is the Sioux Falls Argus Leader on the reasons for the transfer and comments from SDSU Coach Johnston.

VERBALS

Kelsey Sperka, 5-10 guard from New Berlin Eisenhower, WI has made a verbal to Evansville. Sperka averaged 14.6 ppg for the 20-4 D2 Lions last season. Sperka is the 2nd Wisconsin player from the 2008 class to verbal a D1 school and the 6th overall to do so. From the Waukesha Freeman.

CROSS OFF YOUR LIST
Jill Storlie, a 6-2 post from Byron will be playing volleyball at MN State Mankato next season. Storlie averaged 14.6 ppg for the 5-20 AA Bears last season. This is a volleyball story from the Rochester Post Bulletin.

SCHEDULES

2 Northern State Verbals; Young Transfers

2 MORE NORTHERN STATE VERBALS
Nicky Rausch, Hoven has made a verbal to Northern State. Rausch averaged 21.1 ppg for the 17-4 class B Greyhounds. Rausch played this summer with Dakota Hardwood Threat.
Rausch is the 7th player overall in the 2008 South Dakota class to verbal and the 3rd to go to a D2 school.

Also heading to Northern State is Alycia Dahl of Northern Freeze. Dahl goes to school at Marshall County Central in Minnesota, but her high school team is called the Northern Freeze. Dahl averaged 19.4 for the 15-11 class A Freeze last year. This summer Dahl played with the MN Stars Smith squad.
Dahl is the 17th player overall in the 2008 Minnesota class to verbal and the 9th to go a D2 school.

Earlier Emily Becken of Centennial and Jenna Higgins of Maranatha verballed Northern State.

YOUNG TRANSFERS
Jill Young of Mitchell Christian, the all time leading scorer in South Dakota girls basketball history with 3317 points, has left Creighton and will sit out this season. She will attend South Dakota State. Young averaged 29.1 ppg for 21-1 Golden Eagles this past season. Young was the inaugural gbbrecruit player of the summer in 2006.
