King Overcomes Ladywood

MICHIGAN REGIONALS
This week, all before Thanksgiving Michigan has their regionals. Next week it is the state tournament.

Detroit King got revenge on Livonia Ladywood 54-47. Ladywood beat King less than two weeks. From the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News.

Fraser beat Utica Ford 47-43 in a "wild finish". What really is wild is why a race car drivers photo leads the story in the Detroit News.

#2 A Lansing Waverly continued to advance with 43-34 win over Howell.
East Lansing eliminated Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 57-49 ending Cetera Washington's HS career.

Ellsworth ended Posen's season by the narrow margin of 53-52. Posen trailed at one point by 22 points. Anna Eggebrecht made a steal with under 10 seconds left to preserve the Ellsworth win. From the Alpena News.

Kent City avoided an upset attempt by Clare 42-33.
Mt. Pleasant trailed by 8 at the half, but stormed back in the second half for a 49-44 win over Traverse City Central.
Frankfort has a chance to defend their D championship still with a 45-33 over Beal City. The game was tied at 29 with six minutes to go.

Flint Hamady blitzed Wyoming Kelloggsville in a lopsided 77-35 win. The turnover bug forced WK to cough up the ball 9 times in the first quarter.
Ottawa Hills will face Lowell on Wednesday after their regional wins on Monday. OH beat Grand Haven 61-46; Lowell beat Hudsonville 51-36.
It will be Christian vs Christian as Unity C and South C both moved on.
Cedar Springs and East Grand Rapids will see each other after their wins last night. CS outscored Muskegon Heights 6-2 the last 90 seconds to win 54-50.

Pewamo-Westphalia forced Olivet in to 32 turnovers in a 62-50 regional win.
Tri-Unity Christian beat Battle Creek St. Philip 49-43.

#1 D Portland St. Patrick marched on to the regional finals with a convincing 58-26 win over Carsonville Port Sanilac. PSP is looking for its 8th straight regional title. From the Ionia Sentinel Standard.

McBain took care of Charlevoix 54-35. from the Cadillac News.

Cheboygan may spell their name differently than in Wisconsin but they still win and are going on after beating #8 Mason County Central 62-51.
Cedarville plucked Onaway 67-46 in the D regionals.

New Lothrop had to go to overtime to get past Morley-Stanwood 53-48. NL canned seven 3s on the night.
#1 C Saginaw Nouvel zipped out to a 21-0 over Laker and in due course triumphed 70-38.

Defending C champ Houghton ran past Manistique 91-54.
Iron Mountain took care of the free throw line in a 56-49 C regional win over Westwood.

Saginaw Arthur Hill survived Flint Carman Ainsworth 45-39.
#3 B St. Clair trailed at halftime by five and rallied to beat Flint Southwestern 57-48.
Undefeated Sandusky took out Bentley 50-31 in C regional play.
