Out & About: 4 x 4

#5 posting 3.4.2006

Today I saw four games, two this afternoon at Prior Lake, and two this evening at St. paul Arlington. There were some interesting things that happened.
In 6AAAA
Minneapolis South scored 54 points in the second half and beat Apple Valley 84-72. Apple Valley had a 12 point lead 27-15 with five minutes to go in the first half, but South closed with a 15-6 flourish to make it 33-30 AV heading into halftime. South scored on 7/8 possessions to start the half and survived a time when AV closed to 57-54. Tayler Hill had 36, and Ephesia Holmes had 22, 20 in the second half as the press just rattled AV. Christina Steele had 28 for AV, Cassie Hubler added 23 for AV with 19 in the second half on the strength of 5 3s.

Jenna Smith led Bloomington Kennedy with 22 points in a 66-44 win over Eastview. BK led from start to finish. Janine Oxley produced 22 for Eastview with four 3s on the day.

#3 Tartan squeaked by Cretin-Derham Hall 39-37. Erica Jost of Tartan made her second free throw with five seconds left to give Tartan 38-37 lead. Jost then deflected a pass and grabbed the ball and was fouled with one second left. She made the first and missed the second and CDH did not have a chance to get a good look at a shot. They will face St. Paul Central a 58-47 winner over Tartan.

I will be providing the details to these games later, one tonight and the rest tomorrow.
