This game took place on Saturday, June 23
Rogers Breakdown Summer Showcase
Blue Bracket Finals
ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE knights 53, MORRIS tigers 27

In the second championship of the day STMA dominated the last half of the first half and the whole second half to put their mark on the win. Morris actually led early in the contest 9-4 on a 5/6 offensive sequence for Morris. Heather Gagner scored four of the points. After that initial outburst of activity the offensive dried up faster than a pond in the Arizona sun. For the game Morris was at a 49.1 pp100. If you discount the first seven possessions however it was a bone chilling 37.5 pp100 the rest of the game. For the rest of the half they endured stretches of six, seven and again six possessions of offensive inactivity. It was STMA 21-15 at half time.

STMA put the game out of reach with a 9-0 run to go up 34-16 in the second half. The droughts were less frequent for Morris, but they did have a seven possession stretch. STMA did make use of three point plays both conventional and behind the arc. Kasandra Barthel also made three free throws after being fouled from behind the arc. There really wasn't a lot of drama as the game wound down.

It should be noted that Morris was without the services of Kelsey Draper who has an achilles injury.
