INDIANA fever 89, MINNESOTA lynx 75

Here is the official WNBA story and box.
Minnesota is still searching for a win. Indiana had three runs that broke MN's back. The first started with just 14 seconds left in the first half as Indiana scored six points to finish the half and then added 8 more to start the third quarter for a 14-2 advantage over two minutes across two quarters. MN led 37-34 before the breakdown occurred.
The second Indiana run came at the end of the third and carried over to start the fourth. Again it was a six possession string and an 11-5 run over three minutes.
The last Indiana run came in the middle of the fourth on a seven possession 15-6 run, again over three minutes.
Add the totals up and you will see Indiana outscoring MN in those 8 minutes 40-13. MN beat Indiana 62-45 in the other 32 minutes of action.
How is the breakdown happening? 12 points in that 40 came after turnovers. According to the play by play Indiana had 11 lay ups, 13 if you count the "driving lay up" category. MN had 4 lay ups, 8 counting driving lay ups too.
Minnesota's inside game needs to step up if they are ever to see the left hand column this year. Augustus is Augustus. Harding is a true point, something MN lacked last year. Nicole Ohlde is a good role player. She is not a force inside. She managed one defensive rebound last night. Obviously fouls had something to do with that.
Minnesota cracked the 100 pp100 for the first time last night. Now they need to get the band aids, seran wrap, duct tape, glue to fix the holes in the defensive effort. Their best D job came against Sacramento with a 98.7.
