MIDWEST ELITE EXPOSURE SHOWCASE
Menomonie WI
Gold Division Semifinals
MN METRO STARS 15S 57,
TEAM WISCONSIN SELECT 15S 51

MN Metro Stars took this game with some sharp shooting and crisp execution on offense for a 58-51 over the shorthanded hosts Team WI Select 15s 58-51.

MMS started off with microwave offense with three straight scores on their opening possessions with Alyssa Marschner stroking a three from the left wing, her first of three 3s on the day. Brianna Tisch then scored on two for the 7-1 lead. Kristee Rotty had a hand in all three with assists. TWS got hot too early on as the offensive pyrotechnics had both teams over 100pp100 (MMS 135.3; TWS 117.6) for their first 17 possessions. Both teams combined for 8 straight scoring possessions. 6-5 Nicole Griffin just was warming up at this point. She did not contribute a point at this stage, but she started to make her presence felt with a score off a second shot & one and later added a post up. MMS stayed hotter with 16-9 run to close out the first half to lead 39-29.

TWS came out strong with a 11-3 to start the second half. This made the score 42-40 MMS. TWS was led by Nicole "the Blade" Griffin with six of the points, four on second chancers including a tip in. Then it was MMS going on a 12-3 run to go up 54-43. Molly Duehn had six points of the 12 including the initial points on a rebound basket to get the run going. But MMS cooled way off as they only converted on one of their last six possessions. Even though they weren't scoring they were milking time off the clock with one possession going three lines and 28 touches taking a good minute plus off the clock. TWS did make better use of their possessions at the end with three scores in their last four possession over the last three minutes, but they couldn't squeeze MMS off the 28 touch possession and MSS advanced to the finals with a 57-51 win.
