Waseca, Red Lake County Central Down

Two #1s went down in section play in MN. #8 Lakeville South dumped #1 Waseca 72-59 and #8 Grygla-Goodridge downed Red Lake County Central 53-45.

Rosemount dodged an upset bid by Farmington 52-46, and all top seeds will play Saturday. Rosemount will play Lakeville North in the rubber game of their season series. Rochester Mayo will play conference foe Owatonna in the other game Saturday.
3: all the top seeds moved on. The tightest game was #4 Woodbury beating district rival Park-Cottage Grove 43-40. Woodbury will face St. Paul Central and Tartan, who only beat St. Paul Highland Park by 8, will play Cretin-Derham Hall.
7: all went well with higher seeds. The closest match was # 3 Andover beating Blaine by six.
Champlin will take on St. Francis and Centennial faces Andover Monday.

in the big upset shocker of the night #8 first year school Lakeville South took out Waseca with two D1 players (Tressa and Staci Beckel will attend UW Green Bay). 72-59. Waseca was #7 in the AP final poll. They weren’t the only upset victors as # 5 Northfield beat defending champ Red Wing. Lakeville South will play Northfield and New Prague will play Albert Lea Saturday.
3: all top seeds live to see Saturday. DeLaSalle will be looking for revenge in the match up with DeLaSalle. Holy Angels face their Catholic sisters from Hill-Murray in the other game Saturday.
8: no surprises in this section which sets up some doozies at Moorhead State on Saturday. Detroit Lakes plays Fergus Falls and Willmar takes on Park Rapids.

the only upset in the quarters was #6 Holy Family edging #3 Rockford 69-67. Sub section semis are on Saturday at the higher seeds.
5: perennial power New London-Spicer fell to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 66-60. Eden Valley-Watkins will play HLWW at Dassel-Cokato on Saturday at 6, while Watertown-Mayer will face Glencoe-Silver Lake at HLWW also on Saturday.
6: All went according to seed as Albany will play Holdingford west while Foley will play Pierz Saturday at St. John's University.
7: #6 Virginia pulled an upset over Two Harbors 62-58. they will now face Proctor on Saturday. Crosby-Ironton will play Lake of the Woods; Pequot Lakes will face Deer River; Esko will play Eveleth-Gilbert.
8: No problems for any top seeds in the quarters. Undfeated Barnesville will face Breckenridge. Hawley will face conference rival DGF in the other south match up at Concrodia Moorhead Saturday.
In the north half all top seeds will play Saturday at UM Crookston. Crookston will play Roseau and East Grand Forks takes on Walker.

8: In the other stunner of the night #1 Red Lake County Central was sent packing by Grygla-Goodridge 53-45. They will face Red Lake Falls Saturday. Clearbrook-Gonvick and Fosston also advanced and face each other in the East bracket.
In the west the only upset was Stephen-Argyle taking out #4 Warren-Alvarado-Oslo 56-49. They take on Badger-Greenbush-Middle River. Kittson Central will play Northern in the other semi Saturday at Thief River Falls in the Englestad Arena.
