AAA
7: Both top seeds advance to play next Thursday as Hermantown beat East and Hibbing crunched Grand Rapids. It sets up a rematch of a game played J26 when Hibbing beat Hermantown by 12 75-63. Bjorlin had 33 in that game so she will need more help if she wants to return to the state tournament. The championship game will be at Denfeld at 7 pm.
AA
2: In both the east and the West both top seeds advanced. So on Monday Hayfield will play NRHEG for the east bracket, and undefeated MN Valley Lutheran will take on Fairmont. Fairmont beat Blue Earth in overtime 88-83. Both games will be at MN State Mankato.
3: Pipestone joined Benson as a #1 team out in 3. Pipestone was dropped by St. James 59-54. St. James will play MACCRAY as they beat LQPV 61-52. Both St. James and MACCRAY are #2 seeds and will play the early game at SW MN State in Marshall next Friday.
A
1: #2 Goodhue thumped #1 Faribault Bethlehem Academy 71-53. They will take on Elgin-Millville, who ended #6 Rushford-Peterson's string of upsets 61-53, next Thursday in Rochester.
2: both the top seeds advancediin the South. Nicollet had the closest battle with a 51-48 win over Comfrey. Nicollet will take on Valley foe GHEC Monday at Gustavus in St. Peter. It will be the fourth time the two have played this year. Nicollet leads the series 2-1 as the games have been decided by a total of nine points. In the north half Sleepy Eye St. Mary's beat their fellow Catholic school New Ulm Cathedral 53-49. It sets up a confrontation Monday with Cedar Mountain at Gustavus in St. Peter. This year CM has two wins over SESM averaging 19 points. Last year SESM beat CM in the same game and eventually made it to state.
3: In the south Sarah Raddle of Fulda made her only shot of the night and the only three pointer of the night with 7.5 seconds left to beat #1 Murray County Central 50-49. The two teams had split on the year with each winning on their home court. Fulda trailed with 1:01 to go by four points 48-44. Fulda had four players foul out in the contest. Rachel Christiansen, MCC's big gun all year, was wobbled by an ankle injury suffered in the Semis against Adrian. The upsets did not stop in the south as #5 RTR made it to the championship game with a 53-50 win over Lincoln HI. They will play the late game next Friday at Southwest State in Marshall.

There will be plenty of great games in the sections today.
In AAAA semis are being held in the afternoon in 1 in Rochester, 2 at Armstrong HS, 4 at Tartan HS, 6 at Prior Lake and in the evening for 3 at St. Paul Arlington and 8 at Wadena. Quarters begin finally for 5.
In AAA, if the weather cooperates, 8 will have their semis at MN State Moorhead this evening. Also this evening in Rochester Lakeville South will continue their quest by trying to upset Northfield in section 1, Section 2 is in St. Peter; 4 is at Buffalo; 6 is at Osseo. 3 will play in the afternoon at Hastings. Quarters finally begin for 5.
In AA the biggest match up takes place with Kingsland facing Rochester Lourdes in the finals of 1West in Rochester in the late game. Winona Cotter will take on Caledonia in the early game. 5 is playing the semis at two sites--Dassel-Cokato at 7:30 and Howard Lake at 8. The 6 semis are at St. John's. 4, 7 and 8 are in the quarterfinal stage.
