Very low scoring affair. Xavier led 5-4 at the end of one. They opened the game with a 3 by Jennifer Potts. Xavier held the lead most of the first half. Spirit Lake did hold leads twice. The big factor for Spirit Lake was Amber Kirschbaum. She had 8 of Spirit Lake's 12 points at half. Xavier led 16-12 at half. Xavier built their lead to 26-16 during the 3rd quarter. In the fourth quarter Xavier had an 0/7 start with their possessions. Spirit lake tied it with Jordi Gerking's basket at 27. Bailey Dorrington made one free throw for Xavier, and Sara Clancy grabbed the miss and was fouled. She added a free throw with 24 seconds left and a 29-27 lead. Kirschbaum tied it with 9 seconds left. With time running down and looking like overtime Kelsi Karkosh drove the lane and was fouled by Rachel Gerking. She missed the first free throw and made the second with .04 seconds left (not four seconds either). There was no clean look with that puny amount of time left.
