All This, and All That, but Where is Thorpe?

#1 posting 3.20.2006

ALL THIS, ALL THAT
Many All State, Tournament, Conference teams are being decided now. There is always debate on the players. Any time you make a list, someone is left off. Passions are stirred.
Here is what the Bismarck Tribune has to say about the whole process http://www.bismarcktribune.com/articles/2006/03/20/news/columnists/thomas/111854.txt

ALL STAR GAMES
SD
The Pheasant Country All Star game will be held on Saturday, March 25 at Ben Reifel gymnasium in Sisseton. SD. It will feature NE South Dakota players and the teams will divided into A and B

MINNESOTA STATE LEFTOVERS
Things I hate: rolling the ball in from out of bounds. There is no advantage to that move. Usually a team will do it with the clock stopped. A player has to bend down and pick it up. Why not pass it in as far up court as possible? If you want to join bowling, just do it. The roll reached absurd levels in the AAAA championship game when Kennedy rolled the ball in even when the clock was running! Just eliminate that stupid manuevere from the playbook.

NUMBER 1
HAWAII
It is springtme in Hawaii, and that means HS girls basketball. Iolani is the new #1 in the Honolulu Star Bulletin poll. Previous #1 Punahou did not play last week.

POLICE BLOTTER

RATING THE STATE'S WEB SITES
With the state tournaments over I will grade out the various websites, their strengths and weaknesses.
IOWA: B....updates during the game a draw. box scores, play by play listings.
MINNESOTA: B-.....Didn't provide the halftime box score like Iowa.
NORTH DAKOTA: F.....flat, no box, no play by play, needs upgrade
SOUTH DAKOTA: A+.... any time you have live feeds and can watch any of the three games on your computer that earns the A. Add the interactive shot charts and you get a plus. Clearly the best. They use DakStats which is based out of South Dakota.
WISCONSIN: B-....One plus for Wisconsin--you can look at their program with photos and rosters. However their play by play somehow eliminates all missed shots and turnovers. Put that information up on line in you play by play. It will make your site a better site.
