13 AAU QUALIFIER
The Midtown Lady Monarchs 13U suffered a setback to their quest for a top ten national finish as they lost an AAU Invitational championship game at Kennedy 40-32 to the Minneapolis Lady Cats 13U.

It was the Monarchs first loss in three years to a Minnesota team in their own age bracket. The Monarchs were playing without one of their starting guards, Diamond Lane, because of sickness. Their other starting guard, Marissa Janning, was playing with a bruised ankle.

The Monarchs shot a pitiful 21% from the field, while the Lady Cats got a strong performance out of Sarina Baker, who scored a game high 15 points. Baker had two double doubles over the weekend. Brianna Williams also had a strong tournament.

St. Paul Central beat Olympic Ice by 16. OI only has seven players and got tired as the game wore on.
