COACHING NEWS
In an ironic twist AnnMarie Gilbert, Michigan State assistant coach, will be the new coach at Eastern Michigan replacing Suzy Merchant. Gilbert originally planned to stay on at MSU. From the Ann Arbor News. Here is Gilbert's bio at MSU.

COACHING TRENDS
This year 7 black women (with Gilbert going to Eastern Michigan) have been hired to coach at the D1 level. This is a new record from what people have remembered. Northern Iowa (Tanya Warren); Coquese Washington (Penn State); and Jolette Law (Illinois) are some of the recent hires. From the Des Moines Register.
