This game took place on Sunday, May 27
Memorial Day Classic, Menomonie, WI
Platinum Semifinals
RANDOLPH 38, CHICAGO JAGUARS 34

I reported on this game on Sunday on my Gabcast Channel, episode #33. If you are looking for photos you won't find any. My battery died and I didn't have a backup.

Randolph upset Team WI Select 17 in pool A and therefore moved on automatically to the semifinals. Randolph was without the services of Katie Tollner this weekend due to illness. They did add three players from the April Tournament. Chicago had to play earlier in the day.

Randolph started off slowly with a five possession drought. Chicago wasn't that scintillating from the floor either with a 1/6 sequence and only one point to show for their efforts. Chicago took the first decent lead at 8-4 after a three by Taylor. Randolph finished the half with a 13-4 run. Erin Lind started it off with a rebound basket "&1." Lind contributed 7 in the run. Chicago reverted back to the earlier part of the half going 1/9 in their offensive sequences and again only one point. Randolph led 17-12 at the half.

Chicago tied the game at 18 on a pull up jumper by Thompson. Randolph then went on an 8-0 run capped off by two 3s by Jadee Rooney. That gave Randolph some breathing room at 26-18. Chicago had another of their periodic droughts, this time 8 possessions empty. The Chicago Jaguars, may not be consistent, but they can score in a hurry and closed to 30-28 and then 34-32 after a drive by Olive with 3:36. Marieanna Dulas was fouled and went to the line for Randolph. She grabbed the rebound off her own miss and scored the second chance. On the next Randolph possession Lea Sevick scored on a post up and Randolph pushed the lead out to 38-32. With under a minute Olive stroked a 3 for the final points 38-35. On the next Randolph possession Sevick took a shot from the outside with over 30 seconds left. On Chicago's next possession Olive traveled. Randolph then did a better job of managing the clock.
