Platinum Quarterfinals
CHICAGO jaguars 40, VC CENTRAL WI 32

Chicago, the only Illinois team in the tournament, broke a 9 all tie with a 10-2 run to finish the half. VC Central WI only scored one point in 14 possessions. Neither team was ripping up the nets in the first half. Chicago checked in at 76 pp100 while came in at 45.8. The quickness of the Chicago guards had something to do with the low performance level of VCCWI. Most of the problem was in the shooting % however.

The first photo is from the first half with Chicago's M. Thompson driving in with Heather Kessler reaching out to block.

CVCWI turned it up a few degrees in the second half. They tied the game at 25 with a rebound basket by Kessler. CVCWI took the lead at 28-27 on a 3 by Marissa Draxler. Kessler had 10 points in the 17-8 run. Kessler and Draxler had 19 points in the second half for CVCWI. They had nothing in the first half. T. Taylor scored on a put back right after CVCWI took the lead. Then J. Olive took over. She scored on a drive for Chicago. Chicago outscored CVCWI 13-4 the rest of the way. Olive had 8 of the points in the final flourish with drives, transition, and free throws.
