FOREST LAKE AAU TOURNAMENT
Junior Girls, Pool A
NORTH TARTAN LARSON 79, MN STARS ANTL 44

I reported on this earlier on my Gabcast channel episode 22.

North Tartan survived a rough first pool play with Total Package. NT took out their frustrations on MN Stars Antl. NT was humming on all cylinders even if NT wasn't all there. NT led 16-2 as they ran and scored on transition. MSA couldn't recover from their 10 possession drought early. Amanda Viehauser had six points of NT's first 16. The best sequence MSA had was a 10-4 run to close to 22-12. A couple of 3s helped chisle away at the margin. Things did cool off for NT with only five points the last four minutes. MSA had a 8-5 advantage to close the half. But even with that little bump it was NT 37-22 at the half.

It was more of the same in the second half only more so. When NT struck it was a whirlwind. With their interchangeable parts, versatility and strength they kept up the attack. NT had sequences of 4, 5, and 7. NT was difficult to stop. They had the size advantage, and speed advantage and used it efficiently. Hannah Linz kicked in for 10 in the second half as everyone got into the act. The bright spot for MSA was Sam Mehr and her 3 barrage. She connected for three from behind the arc, plus a lay up for 11 points in the half. With the win North Tartan will now go the the finals. The likely opponent is NC Heat. NC Heat is #1 in the gbbrecruit poll, NT is #2.
