This game took place on May 20, 2007
Forest Lake AAU Tournament
Junior Girls, Gold Quarterfinals
MN STARS BOROWICZ 57,
SOUTHERN MINNE MAGIC WHITE 29

I only watched the first half of this game as it was on court 2 and those games were backed up. We eventually wanted to get to court 1 where all the championships were to be played and get back on schedule. I also missed the first few possessions of the start of this game, but a reliable source filled me in on the details. I was delayed out in the hall after the Quest game. They only have four minutes warm up to keep the schedule moving.

As it was MSB jumped out to a 12-0 lead. MSB was stronger on the offensive boards and moved better without the ball. SMMW started the game with an 0/9 offensive sequence. MSB defense forced seven turnovers in that sequence. Chari Lehnertz finally broke the ice with a rebound "& 1" at the 10:56 mark. SMMW started an 11-6 run at that point. But for most of the first half (and apparently most of the second half) SMMW struggled from the floor. They had droughts of 4, and 6. Baskets were hard to come by in their initial offense. Not counting second chancers or transition baskets SMMW only scored two field goals from 2 point land. MSB led 30-18 at half.

Things must have stayed the same in the second half 27-11 for MSB.
