This game took place on Sunday, May 27
Memorial Day Classic, Menomonie, WI
15 Semifinals
TEAM WI SELECT 15U 38, PRIDE YOUTH 13

I reported on this game on Sunday on my Gabcast channel, episode #31, PRIDE Youth was the only Minnesota that we came across this weekend. The photo on the left is Bailey Lund of PY going up over Anna Cole.

The 6-6 Twin Towers were imposing sentinels on defense and TWS15 dominated the smaller PRIDE Youth 38-13. Of the two towers it was Nicole Griffin that had a strong offensive first half with 8 points to lead TWS15. PY managed only one field goal in the first half. Oddly enough TWS15 only had three more field goals. Neither team was scorching the nets. PY had droughts of 7, 5, and 6 during the half. TWS15 was 66.7 pp100 while PY was a chilly 17.4 pp100. It was 16-4 at half time.

The game didn't really vary in the second half. PY started the half with another drought of 5, combining that with the last portion of the second half it was a long 11 possession dry spell. PY had one more dry spell with a six spot. Again neither team ripped it up, but TWS15 did put a string of four possessions late in the game. Four different players contributed. Whitney Rawdon had six points in the second half to lead TWS15.
