COACHING NEWS
Former Burnsville coach Andy Meinhardt has been named the head girls basketball coach at Bloomington Jefferson where he is also a physical education teacher. He will continue to direct the Minnesota Metro Stars AAU basketball program. At Burnsville his record was 68-64 in five years.

THE PET PEEVES OF COACH TEAS
Today, and on the following Mondays, I will be releasing a few of Coach Teas' peeves. Coach Teas attends many of the HS and AAU games with me.
The list (so far) is 13 long. I will be reversing the order a la David Letterman's top 10 list. Again this is the top 13. Today 13-10

#13 Coaches complaining about officiating----sends all kinds of bad messages and your kids pick up on it.

#12 Use a ball fake to move defense when passing----do not be so predictable and advertise your choice.

#11 Grabbing the ball going out of bounds when you are sure it is yours. Blind saves are not good-----you don't know where the opponent is.

#10 Doing flashy things when the simple move is safer AND more effective. It is all about doing things that increase your chance of scoring.

Next week Coach Teas will list #9-#7

POLLS
I run polls on Friday. If teams could email me your records by Thursday it would be appreciated.

Thanks to the readers for delivering news you can use. If you have information, go to my profile and email me.

Next up: parade of states, college report, and two out & abouts later today.
