METRO STARS BLACK 62, TOTAL PACKAGE 32

Metro Stars Black took the Richfield championship with a game finally against someone other than in their own family. They opened the day with the Metro Stars 15s and that was a tight up in the air decision until the final minutes. The semis were against the MSW. With the contest against a new foe the MSB relaxed and played ball. With Courtney Boylan again coming up aces MSB double up Total Package.

Total Package, led by Krista Kaput knocked down two threes in the first four possessions and they led 7-0. MSB answered with two 3s of their own led by Boylan and Hanna Muegge. That initiated an 18-3 run. Boylan had 11 during that stretch with three 3s. Black scored on six straight possessions. But Black also had 1/7 sequences in the first half too. Total Package closed the half 0/7. MSB led 32-18 at the break.

The second half started off well for MSB with a 8-2 run again spearheaded by Boylan and her four points. Black pushed the lead out to 45-27. Package did have a 10 possession drought in the heart of the second half which made it hard to close the gap. Half of those possessions ended up as turnovers. Black closed out the game with a 5/7 sequence. There was no real mystery in the second half as Black won 62-32.
