16II semifinals
'STANGS 47, RIVER CITY 38

This was the 16II semifinals and the Stangs came up from Sioux Falls to take no prisoners. This group had some 2010s (Brown, Fujan) and three 2009s (Hanssen, Robinson, Johnson). Alisa Brown, the only non-SF Roosevelt player, started off the game by drilling a three from the left wing. Three River City possessions later Ashley Johnson struck with a three from the right corner. The game was tied twice more when Brown notched two free throws and then Liberty Robinson hit a three to go up 12-7. The Stangs kept that five point spread. The River City's Kyana Wilson cut it to 19-18 with a "& one." From that point on both teams scored 6 points to close the half 25-24.

River City took their first lead at 27-25 with a three by Ashey Johnson, her third 3 of the game. Kelly Case struck back for the Stangs on their next possession with her own three from the right wing for a 29-27 lead. The River City scored the next four to retake the lead for the last time 31-30. The Stangs answered back with four to go back in front 34-31 on two consecutive lay ups by Brown and then Katie Meister. River City got stuck in an 8 possession drought; the Stangs nearly matched that with a seven dry spell. River City tied it on a three by Ali Berregan at 34. Case hit a three two Stang possession later to make it 37-34. That started a 9-2 run for the Stangs to push the lead to 43-36. Paige Beck had four of those Stang points in the run. The game finished up with the Stangs riding off with a 47-38 win.
