This game took place on Saturday, June 30
Dakota Showcase, Augustana, Sioux Falls
semifinals
ECI GOLD WEST 77, DAKOTA HARDWOOD THREAT 65

This semi actually started ahead of schedule. They were about a half game ahead of court 2. That is why you will get a game and a half report. First the full report on ECI Gold West's win in the battle of the Dakotas.

Without Alexis Yackley DHT had an uphill climb. They only had seven bodies and it was their second game of the day. They had an emotional win in the quarters after Yackley was knocked out. Still DHT edged out to an 14-12 lead. ECIGW scored six straight times on a 14-3 run to go up 26-17. Point guard Ashley Privratsky had a hand in seven of those points with a three and two assists. DHT came back before the end of the half with an 11-4 run to close to 30-28. DHT had a scare when Amber Wollschlager looked like she injured her foot. She came out of the game and that is when ECIGW had their spurt. Wollschlager was able to return, but not at 100%.

In the second half DHT stayed tight at 32-31, but then three empty possessions for DHT and the hot hand of Shawna Knife of ECIGW boosted the North Dakota team out to a 40-31 lead. To open the half Knife had all 10 of the ECIGW points. ECI had a couple of offensive streaks where they scored six straight possessions. They did have one stretch of three missed chances in the half, but for the most part they were on the move. Privratsky was the key. She gets the ball to her teammates streaking down the floor immediately. ECI looks to push at every opportunity. Both teams are high octane type offenses with good shooters. At one point in the second half both teams combined for 11/13 scoring. They may have had to replace the nets at the end of the game because they were singed from all the friction of the ball swishes. As it was ECIGW had more in the tank for a 77-65 win and DHT had to overcome too many injuries.
