ADIDAS SHOWTIME NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The MN Stars 15’s team (coached by Greg Schmitz) is in Atlanta in the Adidas Showtime National Championships playing in the 16 open division. They won their first game against the Lady Hawks out of Texas, but lost their second game against Exodus Massachusetts. They beat Tennessee Team Pride Stark 45-18, and lost to NE Judds CSS 54-49.
Both the Cornhusker Shooting Stars high school teams are at this event.
The NE Bison CSS (16U) is 2-0 in the top (sponsored) bracket. In the First round they defeated Team Excel (Maryland) 65-37. In the second game they defeated the hometown team Atlanta Lady Celtics 77-66 in a shootout. They lost to the NYC Gauchos 45-30 in their semis. Indiana Elite then beat them in the third place game in the A Bracket 43-33.
The NE Judds CSS (15U) is playing up in the 16U (open) Bracket. The first game they defeated Brooklyn Exodus (New York) 79-39 in a game that was played in front of 50+ college coaches. They then lost to an older and more experience DEBO (Orlando, FL) team 61-38. The Judds team squeaked by the Rhode Island Breakers 16’s on Wednesday 51-50 and then beat MN Stars Schmitz 54-49.
All 4 games have been played in front of 30+ college coaches.
Cornhusker Shooting Stars will be playing in the 17U beginning Friday.
The Bisons will be in the Sponsored C division.
The Judds will be in the Select A.
TOP TEN ALL AMERICAN CAMP
Minnesota Stars Borowicz has three members participating in this Atlanta event: Brittany Chambers, Leah Dietel, and Kate Thompson. Yesterday I listed five NC Heat Players that are attending this camp.
Megan Waytashek, who will be a sophomore at Centennial next year, participated in the underclassman Top Ten All American Camp (on Monday, July 9th) which had 120 Freshman/Sophomores from around the country.
