Kennedy took the CSPSL title with a 2-1 win over St. Paul Central.

A couple of points: #1 Central did not have the services of Kiara Buford, Theairra Taylor and Cyonna West. Buford and Taylor had injuries suffered in the semis. Kennedy did not have Alexis Holt in uniform. #2: all the other teams had coaches on the bench. Not SPC. players were making decisions.

Shakila Boler started things off on the right note for BK with the first four points. Kennedy started the first game with 6/8 scoring sequence as they took a 12-6 lead. All the points SPC scored were inside with Megan Howard and Georgie Jones scoring. Kennedy controlled the tempo as they pushed their lead to 18-10. SPC cut the margin to 18-15 and forced a turnover. On their last possession Kyana Johnson missed her shot and Brittany Zins converted on the transition lay up for the 20-15 win.

Kennedy again took a 4-0 lead in game two. The game was tied at six when SPC played inspired defense and held JFK to a 1/7 offensive sequence. SPC made use of that down time with a 16-4 run to take a 22-10 lead. Kennedy did finish with five straight points to end the second game.

In game three SPC had Georgie Jones on the bench to start the game. With Jones on the bench Kennedy seized the initiative and grabbed a 14-4 lead with a 7/8 offensive sequence. six of those points came directly on 2 point automatic fouls. Defensively SPC was out of position and off balance. SPC had to play catch up the rest of the way. SPC mounted a comeback, but could get no closer than 18-13 with less than a minute to go. Kennedy met the challenge and regained the advantage.
