this game took place yesterday
Lakeville North Summer League
Semifinals
HOPKINS royals 41*, EAGAN wildcats 31

Hopkins opened with a trey from Chelsea Garcia and Eagan answered right back with a drive from Adrea Holler. That started Eagan on a three straight possessions. The first seven possessions for both teams combined dropped for scores. Hopkins led at this point 7-6. Then Eagan fell into an 8 possession drought, but Hopkins didn't seize the advantage and only managed four points before Eagan connected again. Hopkins did get a mini run going and led 17-8. Eagan, 1/14 during the stretch, did get their groove back late to tie the game at 17 at half. Now I had Hopkins up 19-17 at half, but the scoreboard was even/steven.

The second half was fairly tight early. The game had three ties in the second half, the last coming at 26 all. Then Hopkins had a 5/8 offensive sequence where they went up 38-29 on a 12-3 run. Julie Wiemer broke the tie with a trey. Jenna Lillemoe had 7 of the 12 points including another 3. Eagan never really got anything cooking after that. Hopkins, in their last eight possessions, was 2/8 with free throws the only scores. Some forced, rushed shots marred the last few Hopkins possessions. But Eagan came up empty despite the chances to score again.
