SUMMER SHOWCASE RESULTS
METRO STARS BLACK
The Metro Stars Black team won their pool and advanced to the final four of the Nike Summer Showcase in Chicago, IL this weekend before losing to SMAC Bring It. The Black team won Pool D by going 5-0 with convincing wins over BBG Sports Red, Colorado Hoopsters, Michigan Bells, and Wisconsin Playground 17U. In the championship game of the pool the undefeated Metro Stars beat the undefeated New York City Gauchos 62-60 in overtime in front of a packed crowd and a collection of college coaches who had to stand shoulder to shoulder in order to catch the action down the stretch. Metro Stars Black has gone 17-1 during the past month while winning the Miss Basketball Dakota Showcase, Adidas Mid-American 17U Championship, and advancing to the final four of the Nike Summer Showcase.

METRO STARS 15S
The Metro Stars 15U squad wrapped up the 2007 AAU season by going 4-1 at the Nike Summer Showcase in Chicago, IL. The Metro Stars beat the Illinois Wolverines 15U team 58-29, WPA Bruins 42-20, Lady Fire 53-31, and the Wisconsin Fire 52-23. The 15U teams only loss was the the Michigan State Champion Michigan Pistons/Shock. The Metro Stars 15U squad lead 21-14 at the half but couldn't hold on as they lost 40-35 to the Pistons, who hold the #9 seed at the 15U AAU National Tournament. Team basketball has been the trademark of this Metro Stars squad the past four years in route to winning the past for state championships and this was again evident in their final tournament of the season.

Next up: I am by no means done with my emails, I will get to them, but I am going to Lakeville North for the championship games in that summer league tonight. There will be a lot more tonight.
