AAU NATIONALS
Junior Tournament
NC Heat was cooled off by the Kenner Angels of Louisiana 72-58 in the AAU girls basketball tournament and will head into brackets as the #3 seed from their pool. First game is Sunday at 12:30 against the 3rd seed from the "G" bracket: Missouri Valley HMC Select. From this point on, it is single elimination play.
NC Heat led by 7 at half time. Ice cold shooting and very few takeaways lowered the temperature on the Heat. NC Heat was averaging 16 steals a game, but only had 8 in this contest. Kenner was similar to the DBL Phoenix...small and quick...not big. NC Heat didn't press much and still gave up 50 2nd half pts. Kenner played man, not zone, and were quick to double up Hill.
Also from the area the MN Suns are 2-2 and are the 3rd seed from their pool. In one of the victories the Suns scored a season high 94 points in a win over Pensacola. In this tournament the Suns leading scorer is Jamie Noonan, Richfield averaging nearly 20 points a game.
All Iowa Attack finished 4-1 in their pool, which was good for second.
