BOYLAN MVP
Courtney Boylan was named MVP of the Dakota Showcase. Boylan led Metro Stars Black to the championship. She plays HS ball at Chaska. Here is the list of the 15 players on the all tournament team. We saw 13 players on the list this weekend. Two teams had two players on the list: ECI Gold West and Dakota Hardwood Threat
TOURNAMENTS
The Minnesota Stars will host the Mid-American Tournament this weekend. The action begins Friday and takes place at Hopkins.
Here are the brackets for the 17s. 16s; 15s; and 14s. Here is their master schedule.
The Great Lakes Shootout begins on Thursday in Menomonie. You can get the GLS schedules here.
12AAU NATIONALS
The Rochester Post Bulletin reports on the Domino's, a 12u team from New Orleans and how hurricane Katrina affected them.
The hotels in Rochester are even helping out out of town teams with making courts in their parking lots. Again from the Post Bulletin.
North Tartan is the only 12u team left standing from Minnesota. They move on to the sweet 16 now after a 40-39 win over that Domino's team.
First round of AAU D-2 12U bracket play didn't go Minnesota Thunder's way. They dropped the game to Ozark Gateway Thunder (St. Louis) 65-38 during afternoon play in Apple Valley. Minnesota Thunder's last chance game comes today at 12 noon when they face off against the Memphis Elite.
CAMPS
The Minnesota Elite Camp still has a few openings. It runs from July 23-26 at Concordia St. Paul.
