MORE DAKOTA SHOWCASE
It was a Metro Stars kind of day yesterday in Sioux Falls. All three of their teams made it to the championship game in their respective divisions. Metro Stars White finished in 17th place with a 54-47 victory over Team Runza of Nebraska. Metro Stars 15s finished in 10th place with a 53-49 loss to Iowa Elite.
North Tartan Crosby won their bracket play on Saturday putting them in 25th place. They beat MN Suns 51-34.
Here is how the brackets worked. Here are the boxes for all the games.

Here are a few more facts to chew on in the Metro Stars Black run to the championship. They averaged 53.2 ppg for the tournament (don't confuse that with pp100) while the team they played in the championship, ECI Gold West was clocking in at 70.7 ppg. MSB held them to 15 points under their average. So it is true what they say: defense wins championships.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader had a couple of paragraphs on the game at the end of the boys championship final story.

Later the post tournament information will be coming out from the organizers.

12u AAU NATIONALS
D1
Who says 12u players aren't big. The Houston TX Angels have a pair of 6-2 twins on their team. And they aren't the biggest players in the tournament. The Rochester Post Bulletin gives the low down on all the big players in the tournament.

D2
AAU 12U D-2 national tournament action kicked off Saturday in Apple Valley for 32 teams. Minnesota's entrant, the Minnesota Thunder, suffered two disappointing losses.

The Thunder lost to the Independence (Missouri) Trailblazers (66-33) and then to the Buffalo (New York) Defenders (67-48). The Thunder faces off against the Baltimore Cougars today at Apple Valley High School. The Cougars defeated the Defenders, but lost to the Trailblazers.

Pool play continues through Sunday night. Bracket play starts Monday morning. The tournament continues through Saturday, July 7.
