MN STARS SMITH 67, EAST METRO ELITE 55

The #8 seed MN Stars Smith advanced with a hard fought 67-55 win over #9 East Metro Elite. This was the first time I saw EME. They were missing three players, while MSS was at full strength.

EME led at half 27-25 and in the second half held a 40-34 lead with 13:38 left. That is when MSS took off. They went on a 16-0 run and held EME scoreless for 11 possessions and 7:30 minutes. By the time Alex Moore scored on a drive with 5:57 left it was 50-42. EME got the margin narrowed to 52-47 with less than 4:53 left. MSS had an offensive sequence of five straight possessions and reclaimed a 63-53 lead.
