BASKETBALL & SOFTBALL
The New Life Academy softball team took second in state on friday in class A. 5 members of the team play significant minutes for the basketball team. Pitcher Danielle Schmidt, 1st baseman Kristin Stein, 2nd baseman Olivia Mann, shortstop Jenny Ramey, and 3rd baseman Rebekah Schmidt all started on the softball team that went 23-4 on the year. Stein and Mann will be seniors next year, Ramey and Danielle Schimdt will be juniors, Rebekah Schmidt will be a freshman, so all five players will be back for both basketball and softball.

Pat Bowlin, Winona Cotter is coaching the Storm today in the Softball All Star series. Daughter Devin is also a member of his team.

TOURNAMENT NEWS
Yesterday I traveled to Hopkins and the 43 Hoops facility to watch some games. Unfortunately teams didn't show. It was a supposed to be a four team tournament, but only two teams showed. 43 Hoops and Cretin-Derham Hall played earlier in the day & 43H won 50-11. They scrimmaged later in the day. I was there to watch game 3 but both teams weren't interested in playing each other again, and who can blame them.

Today it is off to Rogers to watch the 17/19 championships. There are six scheduled teams in this event.

Next weekend starts the summer season with multiple states coming in and playing. The tournament next week will be at Bloomington Kennedy starting on Friday night. Stay tuned for schedules later in the week.

Thanks to the readers for the great resource of information. If you have news, go to my profile and email me.

next up: other states, college reports, a Look at the Lynx, and Out & abouts from the MYAS Rogers tournament.
