this game took place on Saturday, June 19
AAU Summer Jam Tournament
Bloomington Kennedy
16u pool play
IBCA SELECT I 70, SOUTHERN MINNY ELITE 44

Again the theme for the games I watched on Saturday was--"find the teams I haven't seen yet." Southern Minny Elite fit that requirement. I did see IBCA Select I in the Iowa State AAU Tournament back on April 1.

IBCA took command right from the start jumping out to a 12-2 lead after the first shift. IBCA could run five players in and out, while it was lonely on the bench for SME with a sole player. The defensive intensity bothered SME early. In the first nine SME possessions, six ended up as turnovers. Of those six turnovers, IBCA converted for six points. IBCA had two runs of five in the first half, and if extended, two 6/7 sequences. Thos two runs combined delivered a 23-9 advantage for IBCA. Of those 23 point, 9 came on second chancers. At half time it was 40-23 IBCA.

The second half didn't have a lot of drama. IBCA scored on their first three possessions to push their lead to 25 points. The biggest IBCA lead came at 64-36. The rest of the half was running time.
