this game took place Tuesday, June 12
Champlin Park Summer League
TOTINO-GRACE eagles 53, ANDOVER huskies 27

In the second game last night it was Totino-Grace soaring over Andover 53-27. It was almost like the second shift for Andover. After their first game one group left and a new batch arrived. Deena Ewert's group lost to host Champlin Park 39-27 in the first game.

A word of warning: both teams vacated before I had a chance to get names and numbers. If you know who the players are on either team email me. I knew a few. I was first getting Osseo and Maple Grove information.

Just as in the first game, the team that would go on to lose scored first. Caitlin Hennessey scored first for the Huskies. She added another for a 4-2 Andover lead, but that was the extent of their lead. Lizzi Naumann had a strong first half with 12 points total. She was able to post up, score on rebounds and showed some range. TG took the lead for good on a three by Lauren Soukup. Andover had problems scoring late in the half with eight possessions coming up empty. TG never strung long scoring possessions, but they limited their dry spots too. By halftime it was 23-12 TG.

In the second half it was more of the same except more so for TG. What Naumann was to the first half, Soukup was to the second. She ended up with 8 points in the half to lead the Eagles. TG did have offensive sequences where they put together strings. At the opening of the half the Eagles were 3/4. In the midway portion of the half TG had another string of 4/5 on an 8-2 run. TG finished strong with four straight scoring possessions on a 9-0 run. TG showed good discipline as they worked possessions for two lines at various points in the second half. They took shots they wanted. Andover finished with nine straight non scoring possessions.
