this game took place on Sunday, June 3
Minnesota State AAU Tournament
16u 3rd place game
MN STARS HESTED 84, METRO STARS BLACK 41

first off, for some reason I didn't photograph this game.
MSH played a more relaxed and was in the flow more in this game against Metro Stars Black for 3rd place. MSH never trailed and was only tied at 2. MSH converted on six of seven possessions to go up early 14-5. Brianna Mastey led MSH with six at this point. It was a game of streaks all day for MSH with four in a row to go up 24-11 followed by a five string later in the half to go up 38-17. Every facet of the game that could be dominated was dominated. MSH had three times as many 3s; five times as many made free throws, and three times as many assists. The bench alone outscored MSB 42-41. MSB never had a bad drought early, but never could stop the high powered MSH from scoring. MSB did hit a dry patch in the middle of the half with nine empty trips, by that time the score was 46-19 and the game a foregone conclusion.
It was more of the same in the second half with little drama to report. MSB finished the game with a 1/16 offensive sequence and only one point off that scoring possession. MSH out scored MSB 17-1 to finish the game.
