This game took place on Saturday, June 16
AAU Summer Jam Tournament
Bloomington Kennedy HS
16u Pool Play
TEAM WISCONSIN SELECT 16s 52, BASKETBALL PLUS ELITE 32

I had not seen Basketball Plus Elite this season, so that is why this game was chosen. BPE's core is a Holy Angels team.

TWS16 established their defensive dominance early with a 14-1 lead and there was no real doubt of the outcome. PBE was held scoreless for the first 11 possessions to open the game. When the did score it was on a free throw by Taylor Brown. The biggest first half lead for TWS16 came at the end of the half with a 22 point advantage 35-13. #31 (name not in the roster book WI Viking Club book handed out) had 10 points at half. Cody Vandenheuvel also chipped in 8.

The second half didn't change the general trends that were established in the first half. Even with a 9 possession drought TWS16s still led 40-27. PBE did start the second half with a 14-5 run. Leading the charge for PBE was Brown with 7 points. Elizabeth Alberson snapped the drought with a basket & one. TWS16s then went into a semi delay weave. They had four straight scoring sequences as the second half wound down. The first half wasn't exactly fast moving with compared to the Prairie Bison Hoopster vs Stang contest. The first half average possession clocked in at 12.6. The second half crawled at 20.9. That stopped the PBE surge and kept TWS16s in the drivers seat.
