Trice, Cleary Sign

SIGNINGS
Two more Michigan HS players are signing with D1 teams. That brings the Michigan HS 2007 total to 33 for D1 & D2, 25 for only D1s.
Simone Trice, Flint Northwestern a 5-11 forward signed with Georgia Tech.
Ebony Cleary, Detroit King is signing with Western Michigan.

COLLEGE REPORTS
BIG 10 ACTION
I already wrote about Minnesota's 78-66 win over Charlotte last night. The StarTribune has more on the game with Roysland & Ohm in the headlines. Ohm is alone in the MN Daily headlines.

Illinois had a scare with Illinois Chicago in an instate rivalry game 53-48. Jenna Smith from Bloomington Kennedy had 11 off the bench for Illinois. Jessie Miller (Holy Angels) and Cassie Johnson (Eastview) were held scorelss.

Penn State knocked off South Carolina 68-57

Wisconsin held on to edge Western Michigan 80-77. WMU missed a three with 3 ticks left. The Wisconsin State Journal has their version of the events.

TOP 25S
#10 LSU thrashed Virginia Tech 70-40 to win the Basketball Travelers Classic in Baton Rouge, LA.
Marquette upset #25 Washington 78-61 in Milwaukee.

Cincinnati used the 3 ball to upend Arkansas Pine Bluff 89-65. They canned 13 for the game.

Detroit stopped Buffalo 73-61 for their first win of the year. Detroit led early 22-8.

IUPUI knocked of Northern Illinois 73-67 to win their season opener. NIU wasted a 27 point performance by Stephanie Raymond. Kristin Wiener, formerly of Holy Angels, did have 14 for NIU.

Illinois State beat instate rival Loyola Chicago 77-66 for their first win of the year.

Missouri crunched Texas A&M Corpus Christi 89-60.

JUCO ACTION
Southeastern IA lost twice in the Lincoln College Classic last weekend. LC slipped by SE IA 55-53 with two free throws with 0.7 seconds left on Friday. They then lost to Lincoln Land CC 67-60. From the Keokuk Gate City Daily.

TOURNAMENTS THIS WEEKEND
Valley City State will host the DAC/UMAC challenge this weekend. Jamestown, UM Morris, and Martin Luther will be there too.

CONFERENCE NEWS
The North Central Conference is on its last legs. South Dakota will look to move to D1, while Augustana is looking to go to the Northern Sun. From the Yankton Press & Dakotan and the Siuox Falls Argus Leader.
