Iowa, Michigan Open with Wins

Iowa beat Missouri State 79-70 in the UMKC tournament. The Des Moines Register also has a take.

Michigan started off the regular season with a 80-50 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff. The Ann Arbor News has more details.

Oral Roberts handed North Dakota State a 82-67 loss. Elisha Turek, Oral Roberts had 22 points. Turek is from Council Bluff Lincoln, Iowa

Illinois Chicago beat Western Michigan 87-83, but WMU had a bigger loss when Tiera DeLaHoussaye, point guard, left the game with head and neck injuries. Jessie Miller ripped the twine for 21 points in the first regular season game. From the Kalamazoo Gazette.
