HS Practice Opens in Iowa, Wisconsin

IOWA, WISCONSIN HS OPEN PRACTICE
Iowa and Wisconsin open their HS practices today. Their first games will take place next week in Wisconsin, starting November 20 in Iowa. Iowa Districts start Feb. 12, Wisconsin starts Feb.20. Both state tournaments will be on March 5-10 for Iowa, 8-10 for Wisconsin.
Minnesota starts their practices on November 13.
The Dakotas start a week later.

Samantha Otte, Weyauwega-Fremont will not be going out for basketball this year. She has made a volleyball verbal to Central Michigan and will not risk the injury. From the Appleton Post Crescent.

LADYWOOD WINS CATHOLIC TITLE
Livonoia Ladywood beat Farmington Hills Mercy 39-37 for their second straight Catholic League Title, and fifth overall. Jenna Anastos of Ladywood came up with key shots of offense, and shut down Mercy on their last possession. From the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News.

ST. CLAIR REGROUPING
#1B St. Clair lost on Thursday to L'Anse Creuse North 43-38. They still could win the MAC White title with a win on Tuesday. More on St. Clair'sMAC races in the Port Huron Times-Herald.

MICHIGAN MISS BASKETBALL
The Grand Rapids Press runs through the candidates in their area, Carrie Snikkers and Kristi Boehm plus the others. The winner will be named November 27.

Stacy Schlapkohl will be starting for Iowa tonight in their exhibition against Concordia St. Paul. Another from the DMR.

Northern Iowa became MSU Moorhead's second exhibition victim in a 68-64 win at Cedar Falls. UNI led by as many as 18 in the first half.

NORTH DAKOTA WINS DISNEY TOURNEY
North Dakota took the final game over Texas A&M – Commerce 86-78 winning the Group Energy division. Kelsey Maffin was named MVP and was joined on the all tournament team by Dayne Guinn and Kierah Kimbrough.

NAIA ACTION
Mayville State stunned #1 Hastings 91-89 in an overtime win.
