SMART SIGNS
Kelli Smart a point guard from Ada-Borup has signed a DAC Letter of Intent to play basketball at Mayville State Univetrsity. Kelli was a selected to the Class A All-State Team last season as well as the MN State All-Tournament team. She has scored 1,073 points entering her senior season. Ada Borup is currently ranked 4th in Class A. Last season Ada-Borup finished 4th in the State Tournament, and finished with a record of 27-4 overall.

The Big 10 teams fared 3-3 last night.

UW Green Bay beat Minnesota 75-66 at the Northern Arizona Tournament. Also from the Green Bay Press Gazette.

#10 Purdue struggled to beat Arkansas State 67-61 in Jonesboro, Ark. ASU is 2-3 on the year now.

#17 Michigan State bounced back from their earlier loss this week to Hofstra with a 85-66 win over Indiana State. Mia Johnson had four points for MSU.

#18 Rutgers beat Penn State 57-44 in the Paradise Jam.

Mississippi beat Northwestern 61-58. Breck's Melissa Miller is listed as a guard in the box, but she is a forward, had 2 points for Northwestern.

Wisconsin beat Kansas State 56-53 in the UNLV shootout to start the season off 5-0. It is the Badgers' best start in the Lisa Stone tenure.

In a battle of perennial powers #4 Tennessee beat #11 Stanford 77-60 punctuated with a Candace Parker dunk, her fourth in her career.

South Dakota State beat Virginia 62-55 in the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas. From the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. SDSU will be tested by #15 Baylor in the championship.

Drake lost for the first time this year by the narrow margin of 59-58 to Marshall. Kendra King made the front end of a one and one with no time left to win it for Marshall.

Xavier beat Western Michigan in the Paradise Jam 69-62. From the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Marquette downed Auburn 65-61 and will play Xavier for the championship.

The action was tight in D2 with five games decided by three or less.

St. Cloud State beat Northern Michigan 75-65 in the American Family Insurance Classic at UM Duluth.

Host UM Duluth had another nailbiting win, this time a 73-72 victory over Bemidji State. Katie Winkleman provided the heroics for UMD with a three with 10 seconds left in overtime.

North Dakota survived a close call with Lewis 80-77.

South Dakota edged #23 Regis 67-66 to move to 3-0. Former Benilde-St. Margaret player Stevi Seitz started and had four points for Regis.

Northern State hung on with free throws to beat Fort Lewis 69-67 and to move to 5-0. From the Aberdeen American News.

Carleton moved to 2-0 as they continued their California trip by beating Pomona-Pitzer 63-56

Gustavus pounded on Marian WI 74-46 at the Colorado College Thanksgiving Tournament in Colorado Springs.

Dubuque beat UW Platteville 71-62 in the Mississippi River Challenge at Clarke College.

UW Oshkosh beat #5 Wheaton 68-50. the Oshkosh Northwestern chronicles the move from "Turkey" to Triumphant in three short days.
