Only Two Players Finish Win for Ashley

MICHIGAN HS ACTION
Ashley only had two players on the floor at the end, and that was enough to eek out Coleman 71-70. Nine players fouled out, one was injured. Coleman won by 41 earlier in the year.
Lansing Eastern got by Jackson 55-51 with Renieshia George converting a three point play in the last five seconds.
East Lansing beat DeWitt 57-52 to get a share of the CAAC title.
Holt beat Okeomos 48-41 in overtime. Okemos is also getting a share of the CAAC title.

Grosse Pointe North won the Macomb Area Conference Red with a 52-44 win over Fraser. From the Detroit Free Press. Arriel Baker may be a freshman, but she played big for GPN from the Detroit News.

Grand Rapids Christian beat East Kentwood 71-59.
West Catholic topped Rockford 48-46 in overtime.
South Christian thumped Caledonia 58-24 and won the OK Gold in the process.

MILESTONE
Vicky Van Dyke, Kenowa Hills reached the 1000 point mark with 13 points, but her team lost 38-22 to Lowell.

Krista Vande Venter, Iowa has a torn labrum in her right shoulder and will be sidelined for at least a month. From the Des Moines Register.

ELECTION NOTE
My high school classmate Amy Klobuchar is now the US Senator from Minnesota. We both are members of the class of '78 from Wayzata. That might date me some.
Also, once upon a time, I coached at Minneapolis South and one of my players is the house district 61B winner---Neva Walker. Her nickname back in 1987 was Never Nervous Neva. She had a 90-10 cakewalk. This is her fourth win.
